Health & Well-Being
Apply hereHelps cover the cost of medical, dental, vision, prescriptions, and other health expenses not funded by government or private insurance. This program ensures vulnerable children and youth can access the care they need to thrive.
Eligibility
- Children and youth under 21.
- At risk in the community.
- No other funding available (government or private).
- Referred by a professional working with the child, youth, or family.

Tutoring
Apply hereProvides individualized or group tutoring support to help children and youth stay on track in school, achieve their academic goals, and prepare for future opportunities.
Eligibility
- Children and youth under 21.
- Served by Child & Family Well-being or a community outreach organization.
- Recommended by a social/outreach worker.
- Demonstrated financial need with no other funding available.
- Up to $425 per student.

Family Assistance
Apply hereEmergency financial support for vulnerable families in urgent need. Funding helps ensure children remain safe, supported, and housed during times of crisis.
Eligibility
- Families in Nova Scotia with at least one adult caring for one or more children.
- Must be in urgent financial need.
- Application submitted by a third-party professional supporting the family.

Nova Scotia Youth Program
Apply hereProvides financial support to young people who have aged out of care or were supported through a Youth Services Agreement. The program helps cover urgent or ongoing financial needs as they transition into independence.
Eligibility
- Former youth in permanent care of the Minister of Opportunities and Social Development.
- Youth supported under a signed Youth Services Agreement.
- Must reside in Nova Scotia.

Good Beginnings – Recreation
Apply hereSupports children and youth in accessing recreational and cultural programs that build skills, confidence, and community connections.
Eligibility
- Children and youth up to age 18.
- At risk or vulnerable in their community.
- Referred by a professional support worker.

Ignite the Spark Fund
Apply hereHelps children and youth explore and pursue passions in sports, arts, and cultural activities, with support available for up to three years. This fund encourages young people to discover what inspires them and continue building on their interests.
Eligibility
- Children and youth in care (permanent, kinship, or continuous care).
- Children and youth supported by child welfare in the community.
- Strong recommendation from a support worker.
- Youth must show how they will benefit and be willing to complete a short questionnaire.

Transition to Independence
Apply hereProvides gift card support for youth leaving care to help set up their first independent home. Gift cards may be used for groceries, furniture, kitchen supplies, or household needs.
Eligibility
- Youth up to age 24 transitioning from permanent care or a Youth Services Agreement.
- Strong recommendation from agency staff with supervisor approval.
- Clear demonstration of how the funds will support the youth’s independence.
