Year in Review
It has been a big year for the Children’s Aid Foundation of Nova Scotia (CAFNS). We wished Jane Boyd Landry happy adventures after 14 incredible years as Executive Director with the CAFNS; We welcomed Kate Pepler as our new Executive Director; Launched our new website, logo and social platforms; And welcomed four new Board Members.
Through all this change, what hasn't changed is our drive to support vulnerable children and youth in Nova Scotia, providing help where and when it is needed most. Thank you to our generous donors and supporters.
“Your funding has been critical in helping kids get access to medical equipment, medications, medical supplies, eye assessments and glasses, etc. that they would otherwise have to go without for extended periods of time due to child poverty.”
-Community Support Worker, Dartmouth
Thanks to the generous support of our donors and community, we:
- Served 1,269 youth from all corners of the province.
- Dispersed $310,368
- Gifts and toys were give to 184 children and youth through our Holiday Toy Drive
- Disbursed 12 education bursaries for former youth-in-care attending post secondary school.
